Taxation Without Representation

In the 1760s the British Parliament placed new taxes on the colonies. (which means angry colonists because
nobody enjoys paying taxes ... and even more if you are not used to like in the case of the colonists)
there were many Acts (taxes) some were:

  • 1764 Sugar Act
  • 1765 Stamp Act
  • 1765 Quatering Act

They thought they couldn't be taxed because the y didn't had a representation in the Parliament. What is even worse is that the parliament could not understand what were

the colonies arguing about, because they thought they had the right to tax them.

The French and Indian War

French and Indian war
Took place from 1754- 1763, an important thing to know about this war is that it didn't ended automatically in 1763 because it continued in other parts of the world taking place.
What does the French and Indian war really mean?
Unfortunately many people think it is actually the French and Indians fighting. but its not. This name was only given to it in America, simply because the French and Indians allied against the British.

In Europe i.e it was known as "The Seven years War."
